The World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025 is set to bring a wave of nostalgia and excitement as cricket’s most celebrated retired stars return to the pitch for a high-voltage T20 tournament.
The tournament, which will take place in England from July 18 to August 2, 2025, features six teams: India Champions, Pakistan Champions, Australia Champions, England Champions, South Africa Champions and West Indies Champions. Fans can look forward to an action-packed spectacle, as iconic players who have left their mark on the game will compete once again.
The format for the WCL 2025 is a single round-robin, where each team plays every other team once, followed by a knockout stage to determine the champion. Matches will be held at several iconic English venues, including Edgbaston, The Oval, Headingley, Grace Road, and County Ground Northampton. Adding a touch of celebrity glamour, Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn is a co-owner of the Indian team.
Following the success of the 2024 edition, which was also hosted in England and saw the India Champions emerge victorious by defeating the Pakistan Champions in the final, the 2025 tournament promises to be another thrilling affair. With an impressive lineup of legends such as Yuvraj Singh, Kieron Pollard, Mohammad Hafeez, Brett Lee, Eoin Morgan and AB de Villiers, the WCL 2025 is poised to deliver competitive nostalgia and top-tier T20 drama, captivating cricket fans worldwide with its blend of past glories and on-field rivalries.
