The third and final T20I of the series between West Indies and Nepal is scheduled to be played at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, September 30. Nepal have already won the series with a couple of historic triumphs against the former world champions.
Nepal have been phenomenal in the series so far. They have come together as one unit to tear apart West Indies. Skipper Rohit Paudel led from the front in the series-opening clash with bat (38 off 35) and ball (1/20 in 3 overs) to script a 19-run win.
In the second game, half-centuries from Aasif Sheikh (68* off 47) and Sundeep Jora (63 off 39) and then a four-wicket haul from Mohammad Aadil Alam (4/24 in 4 overs) decimated the opposition to register a 90-run win. Akeal Hosein, the standby skipper, has been particularly impressive with the ball in both clashes so far, having conceded runs at an economy rate of just 4.87.
The second-string and inexperienced West Indian side will be anticipated to put on a better fight in what is essentially a dead rubber. Nepal, on the other hand, will look to whitewash West Indies in the first-ever T20I series between the two nations.
All-round clinical effort by NEP crushes WI in 90-run win
Batting at Sharjah has proven to be tougher as the match goes on. Teams winning the toss can be expected to bat first and put up a sizeable total. Anything over 160 can be expected to be a winning total going by the nature of the pitch and overall conditions.
Amir Jangoo (wk), Ackeem Auguste, Jewel Andrew, Keacy Carty, Navin Bidaisee, Jason Holder, Shamar Springer, Fabian Allen, Akeal Hosein (c), Zishan Motara, Jediah Blades
Kushal Bhurtel, Aasif Sheikh (wk), Rohit Paudel (c), Kushal Malla, Gulsan Jha, Dipendra Singh Airee, Sundeep Jora, Sompal Kami, Karan KC, Mohammad Aadil Alam, Lalit Rajbanshi
The skipper missed out on a run-scoring opportunity in the second T20I. He scored a fighting 38 off 35 in the first game. There is every chance that he comes amongst the runs and plays a skipper's knock for his team.
The left-arm spinner has gone wicketless in only one white-ball match. He has been economical this series too, conceding runs at a rate of only 3.80.
