West Indies vs New Zealand Prediction, 2nd ODI – Who will win today’s match between WI vs NZ?
West Indies (WI) will take on New Zealand (NZ) in the second ODI of the five-match series at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Saturday, July 11. The hosts head into the contest with a 1-0 lead after registering a convincing seven-wicket victory in the series opener.
West Indies produced an excellent all-round performance in the first ODI. After restricting New Zealand to 267, the hosts chased down the target with seven wickets in hand. Keacy Carty starred with the bat and was named the Player of the Match for his match-winning knock.
New Zealand, meanwhile, showed promise with the bat but failed to defend a competitive total. Mitchell Santner's side will be aiming to bounce back quickly and level the series before it moves to the remaining matches.
The surface at Providence Stadium is expected to provide a balanced contest between bat and ball. It was a good surface to bat on during the opening match of the series, whilst also having enough help for both pacers and spinners.
John Campbell, Ackeem Auguste, Keacy Carty, Shai Hope(w/c), Sherfane Rutherford, Amir Jangoo, Gudakesh Motie, Khary Pierre, Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph, Vitel Lawesh
Henry Nicholls, Will Young, Mark Chapman, Daryl Mitchell, Tom Latham(w), Michael Bracewell, Mitchell Santner(c), Nathan Smith, Matthew Fisher, Jacob Duffy, Jayden Lennox
Keacy Carty could once again be the key batter in this contest. The West Indies batter played a match-winning knock in the series opener and looked in complete control throughout his innings. Having already found form, he will be eager to guide the hosts to another important victory.
Mitchell Santner could be the standout bowler for New Zealand. The left-arm spinner's ability to control the middle overs and pick up timely wickets makes him a key weapon. On a surface that is expected to offer some assistance to spin, Santner could play a crucial role in helping the visitors bounce back.
