'When was the last time he did anything deadly with bat or ball?' - Kris Srikkanth slams Axar Patel after DC vs RCB

Kris Srikkanth criticised Delhi Capitals' captain Axar Patel for his dismal performances in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. The former India opener commented after the Capitals were pulverised on Monday by the Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Axar and Co. were bowled out for 75 before the visitors romped home in 6.3 overs with nine wickets to spare.
Srikkanth said it has been a long time since Axar contributed significantly with bat and ball, or even as the captain of the Capitals.
"He hasn't done anything with the bat in a long time. Even as an all-rounder and captain, it's been ages since he has done anything. When was the last time he did anything deadly with bat or ball? How can the team come up if this is the case?" Srikkanth asked in a video on his YouTube channel.
Srikkanth went on to point out a few chinks in the armour for the Capitals' batting lineup, the likes of Tristan Stubbs, Sameer Rizvi, and David Miller.
"It's been ages since Tristan Stubbs scored something substantial. Nitish Rana is a gone case when you bounce him. Sameer Rizvi struggles against fast or medium-fast bowling at the start of his innings. If he gets set after smashing some spinner for 20, he'll play well then even against pacers. Miller has also done nothing impactful," Srikkanth mentioned.
Srikkanth lambasted Delhi Capitals' head coach Hemang Badani for his blunt remarks on Chennai Super Kings' head coach Stephen Fleming ahead of IPL 2025. Badani had said that MS Dhoni was the main reason behind Chennai's success, and the former New Zealand skipper didn't contribute much. Srikkanth asked the 49-year-old to mind his business.
Ex-DC player slams franchise thinktank after loss to RCB
"Look at yourself first before commenting on others. This is why you should never loud mouth in life. He did, and now he has been shut up. Now everyone is criticizing him, and he has no option but to remain silent. He should have just minded his business instead of making claims about Fleming. What have you done? You've also not done anything special," said Srikkanth (via the aforementioned source).
