In response, Sri Lanka Women struggled to build partnerships and were hampered by regular wickets. Despite a fighting 39 from Nilakshika Silva, the batting line-up could not cope with England’s disciplined bowling attack and was eventually dismissed for 132 runs. England’s bowlers shared the spoils, with Freya Kemp starring with a superb four-wicket haul. Charlotte Dean and Sophie Ecclestone chipped in with two wickets each to wrap up a comprehensive win.

England Women opener Danni Wyatt-Hodge delivered a sensational batting performance. The right-hander completely dominated the opposition bowling attack, remaining unbeaten on 105 from just 62 deliveries. Her innings featured 13 boundaries and a six, while she maintained an outstanding strike rate of 169.35.
Wyatt-Hodge laid the foundation for England's huge total with a superb opening partnership alongside Amy Jones. The pair added 135 runs from only 82 balls for the first wicket. After Jones' dismissal, Wyatt-Hodge showed no signs of slowing down and shifted gears alongside England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt. The duo added an unbeaten 84 runs from just 38 deliveries for the second wicket, punishing the Sri Lankan bowlers in the closing overs.

England Women left-arm pacer Freya Kemp produced the standout bowling performance of the match. The young seamer finished with impressive figures of 4/22 from her four overs, making her the most successful bowler of the contest. She removed several key batters, including Harshitha Samarawickrama, Kavisha Dilhari, Kaushani Nuthyangana, and Sugandika Kumari, ensuring that Sri Lanka never gained any momentum during the chase.
