Women's T20 World Cup 2026: Match 20, SL W vs IRE W Match Prediction – Who will win today’s match between Sri Lanka Women vs Ireland Women?
Sri Lanka Women will be looking to bounce back following their disappointment against the West Indies when they take on Ireland Women in Match 20 of the 2026 Women's T20 World Cup on Tuesday, June 23. Both sides currently find themselves near the foot of the standings.
Sri Lanka have secured just one win from their first three matches of the tournament and are second-bottom in the points table. Their win against New Zealand is sandwiched between defeats to hosts England and the West Indies.
Ireland, on the other hand, have suffered three defeats from as many matches and have already been eliminated from the group stage. They would want to end the tournament on a high note following narrow defeats to England and New Zealand in their last two fixtures.
A batting-friendly pitch with shorter boundaries, the County Ground in Bristol has tonnes of runs on offer for batters who are well settled at the crease. Sri Lanka, however, did not have the best of times at this venue when they were bundled out for just 98 in the first innings against the West Indies. Slower bowlers and spinners could also play a vital role in the game under the right conditions.
Vishmi Gunaratne, Chamari Athapaththu (C), Imesha Dulani, Harshitha Samarawickrama, Kavisha Dilhari, Nilakshika Silva, Kaushani Nuthyangana (WK), Kawya Kavindi, Sugandika Kumari, Nimasha Meepage, Mithali Ayodhya
Amy Hunter (WK), Gaby Lewis (C), Orla Prendergast, Rebecca Stokell, Leah Paul, Alice Tector, Louise Little, Arlene Kelly, Aimee Maguire, Cara Murray, Lara McBride
Nilakshika Silva has been one of the best batters in the tournament, being the fifth-highest run-getter with 123 runs to her name at an average of 61.50. She scored an unbeaten 54 against New Zealand Women in Sri Lanka's only win of the tournament. She scored 30 in her last game against the West Indies.
Despite Ireland's underwhelming showing in the Women's T20 World Cup, Orla Prendergast has been in good form with the ball. The 24-year-old has taken two wickets in each of their last two outings in the tournament, against two quality opponents in England and New Zealand.
