Women's T20 World Cup 2026: Match 9, AUS W vs BAN W Match Prediction – Who will win today’s match between Australia Women vs Bangladesh Women?
Mighty Australia Women (AUS W) take on Bangladesh Women (BAN W) in match No. 9 of the ongoing Women's T20 World Cup 2026 at Headingley, Leeds, on Wednesday, June 17.
Six-time champions Australia started their campaign with a comprehensive 65-run win against South Africa at Old Trafford in Manchester. The Aussies scored 172/8 after winning the toss and opting to bat first. They followed it up with a brilliant bowling performance, dismissing South Africa for 107 in 16.4 overs.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Women had to dig deep to win their opening encounter against the Netherlands. Chasing a 140-run target, Nigar Sultana's women lost four quick wickets through the middle overs after a great start. However, thanks to Juairiya Ferdous' quickfire half-century at the top and Sharmin Akhter's unbeaten 37, the Asian side reached home with six wickets and five balls to spare.
This is going to be the first game hosted by Headingley, Leeds, in the Women's T20 World Cup 2026. The surface is known to aid fast bowlers, especially when the ball is new and the conditions are overcast. However, it does flatten out after a few overs, and batters can score big.
Beth Mooney (WK), Georgia Voll, Phoebe Litchfield, Ellyse Perry, Ashleigh Gardner, Georgia Wareham, Annabel Sutherland, Nicola Carey, Alana King, Kim Garth, Sophie Molineux (C).
Juairiya Ferdous, Dilara Akter, Nigar Sultana (C & WK), Sobhana Mostary, Sharmin Akhter, Shorna Akter, Ritu Moni, Rabeya Khan, Marufa Akter, Shanjida Akter Meghla, Fariha Trisna.
Phoebe Litchfield played a stellar knock in Australia's opening game against South Africa at Old Trafford in Manchester. She smashed 50 off just 24 balls against a strong bowling lineup. The southpaw will look to continue from where she left off in that game.
Sophie Molineux bowled a terrific spell with the new ball against the Proteas. She dismissed openers Sune Luus and Laura Wolvaardt to finish with figures of 2/17 in three overs. The left-arm spinner would want to set the tone with the new ball.
