Women's T20 World Cup 2026: Semi-Final 2, ENG W vs SA W Match Prediction – Who will win today’s match between England Women vs South Africa Women?
England Women and South Africa Women travel to the south of the River Thames to the iconic Kennington Oval for Semi-Final 2 of the 2026 Women's T20 World Cup on Thursday, July 2. The winner of this tie will face the all-conquering Australian side in the final.
The hosts come into the game after going unbeaten in the group. Their most recent win came against New Zealand, where they secured a convincing nine-wicket victory at the same venue, thanks to Danni Wyatt-Hodge's unbeaten 89 in the run chase.
South Africa, on the other hand, leapfrogged India on the last day of the group phase to qualify for the semi-finals. Following the loss against the Aussies in their first game, the Proteas have registered four consecutive wins to have a chance of winning their maiden ICC honour.
Widely regarded as one of the best batting pitches in the country, the team that bowls first tends to have an advantage, as evident by the two matches that have been played at the venue so far. Teams batting first will need a huge total on the board to remain competitive in the second innings, should they wish to qualify for the final.
Amy Jones (WK), Danni Wyatt-Hodge, Sophia Dunkley, Alice Capsey, Heather Knight, Freya Kemp, Dani Gibson, Charlie Dean (C), Sophie Ecclestone, Linsey Smith, Lauren Bell
Laura Wolvaardt (C), Tazmin Brits, Annerie Dercksen, Dane van Niekerk, Marizanne Kapp, Nadine de Klerk, Chloe Tryon, Sinalo Jafta (WK), Shabnim Ismail, Ayabonga Khaka, Nonkululeko Mlaba
Danni Wyatt-Hodge is having the tournament of her life and shows no signs of slowing down. The right-handed batter is the leading run-getter in the T20 World Cup, having scored 282 runs at a strike-rate of 153.26 whilst averaging 94. She has two half-centuries and one century to her name, which came against Sri Lanka in the opening game of the competition.
Marizanne Kapp is South Africa's joint-highest wicket-taker in the tournament with seven scalps from five matches. However, it is her economy that truly sets her apart, conceding just 5.21 runs per over.
