The Madhya Pradesh government has announced an INR 1 crore reward for Kranti Goud for her stellar performance in the Women's World Cup 2025. The 22-year-old picked up nine wickets in the eight matches while bowling at an economy rate of 5.73.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav extended his congratulations to Kranti and the Indian team for their excellent performance in the mega event while also announcing the generous reward for the budding Indian star.
"I want to congratulate everyone for the way the daughter of our state and the daughters of the country performed brilliantly in cricket last night. Madhya Pradesh's daughter Kranti Gaud was also part of the women's World Cup-winning team. I want to congratulate Kranti and give her an incentive of INR 1 crore from the state government. I announce to give INR 1 crore to Kranti, the daughter of Chhatarpur," stated Mohan, as quoted by The Economic Times.
Kranti made her India debut in 2025 itself. She had played only seven ODIs before the recently-concluded World Cup. As of the end of the marquee event, Kranti has 23 wickets in 15 matches to her name.
Kranti stood out with splendid figures of 3/20 in 10 overs in India's high-octane clash with Pakistan at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on October 5. She earned the Player of the Match accolade for her bowling performance as India had won that match by 88 runs.
