England Women registered an overwhelming 10-wicket triumph against South Africa Women in Match 4 of the Women's World Cup 2025 at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. The South Africans were bowled out in only 20.4 overs with only one player managing a 20-plus score.
Opting to field first, South Africa got off to a positive start with a couple of boundaries in the first over. Linsey Smith kicked off her campaign with a wicket maiden. Linsey struck the second time in her second over as South Africa kept faltering. By the end of six overs, they were four down. Nat Sciver-Brunt dismissed Anneke Bosch (6 off 5) to leave South Africa in huge trouble with half the side back in the shed.
Sciver-Brunt also dismissed Sinalo Jafta (22 off 36), the last hope for South Africa to get them to a triple-digit score. The left-arm spinner pegged back Jafta's off-stump to send her back to the shed. Nonkululeko Mlaba was the last to get dismissed as South Africa were bundled out for a paltry 69 in 20.4 overs.
Coming out to chase, England were off to a brisk start. With a six-run sixth over, the asking rate had already dropped below one. The heads dropped on the field as England inched closer to the target. By the end of the halfway stage, England reached 39 runs and were one hit away by the end of the 13th over.
