She also picked up the iconic final wicket of the match, that of Nadine de Klerk, who had starred in South Africa's three-wicket win India in the league phase.
While Deepti played a vital role in the summit clash, the Player of the Match accolade went to 21-year-old Shafali Verma. Coming in as an injury replacement of Pratika Rawal who had twisted ankle in the group fixture against Bangladesh, Shafali fired on all cylinders when it mattered the most. She top-scored for the co-hosts with 87 off 78 and returned with figures of 2/36 in seven overs.
