South Africa Women continued their dominant run in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 with a dominant 150-run victory (via DLS method) over Pakistan Women in Colombo. In a rain-affected contest reduced to 40 overs per team, South Africa posted 312/9, thanks to captain Laura Wolvaardt’s 90 and brilliant knocks from Sune Luus (61) and Marizanne Kapp (68 off 43). Nadine de Klerk’s 41 off just 16 balls guided them past the 300-mark.
Pakistan’s chase was disrupted multiple times by rain, with the DLS target revised several times before being fixed at 234 in 20 overs. Kapp’s new-ball spell of 3/20 crushed Pakistan’s hopes early, reducing them to 35/4 inside 10 overs. They eventually were restricted to 83/7, handing South Africa a massive win, their fifth consecutive victory, which also eliminated Pakistan from semifinal contention and took South Africa to the top of the table.

Nadine de Klerk’s quickfire 41 off 16 balls, including four sixes, played a big role in helping South Africa register the highest team total of the tournament. Marizanne Kapp’s double strike in one over to dismiss Sidra Amin and Aliya Riaz turned the game in South Africa’s favour.
South Africa will next face Australia Women in their final group-stage match in Indore, as they look to maintain their unbeaten run before the semifinals. Pakistan, having been knocked out of contention, will play their last game against Sri Lanka, hoping to end their campaign on a positive note.
