ZIM vs SL 2025: Zimbabwe vs Sri Lanka, 2nd T20I Match Preview

Zimbabwe will take on Sri Lanka in the second T20I of the the three-match series at the Harare Sports Club on Friday, September 6. The hosts have not won a single match in the white-ball series, and will be looking to keep the series alive.
An unbeaten 16-ball 41-run blitz from Kamindu Mendis helped the Lankans get over the line in a tight run-chase in the first match. Pathum Nissanka (55 off 32) and Kusal Mendis (38 off 35) got Sri Lanka off to a powerful start before a brief collapse ensued.
Earlier in the match, Dushmantha Chameera (3/30 in four overs) starred with the ball to keep the Chevrons to 175/7 in their allotted 20-overs. Brian Bennett (81 off 57) led the batting effort for the Sikandar Raza-led team.
All three matches in the white-ball matches have gone down to the very last over but have ended in Sri Lanka's favour eventually, as Zimbabwe have been unable to capitalise on situations where they have been in control. With the two ODIs and first T20I gone, they have little time to make amends.
The deck in Harare, while supportive to batting, is expected to aid spinners. Batters can expect the bounce to be true, especially when the ball is new and hard. The spinners are expected to come into play during the middle overs.
Brian Bennett, Tadiwanashe Marumani (wk), Sean Williams, Sikandar Raza (c), Ryan Burl, Tony Munyonga, Tashinga Musekiwa, Brad Evans, Tinotenda Maposa, Richard Ngarava, Blessing Muzarabani
Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis (wk), Kusal Perera, Nuwanidu Fernando, Charith Asalanka (c), Kamindu Mendis, Dasun Shanaka, Dushan Hemantha, Dushmantha Chameera, Maheesh Theekshana, Nuwan Thushara
