The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has officially announced the full schedule for the Asia Cup 2025, set to be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). After weeks of speculation surrounding the much-anticipated India vs Pakistan clashes, the ACC has put all doubts to rest by confirming the fixtures, setting the stage for another edition of the tournament.
The ACC has confirmed that the 2025 edition of the Asia Cup will be played in the T20I format. The tournament will run from 9th to 28th September 2025, featuring eight participating nations divided into two competitive groups. Group A comprises India, Pakistan, UAE, and Oman, while Group B consists of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong. All teams will compete in a round-robin format within their groups, with each side playing three matches during the group stage. The tournament serves as a key preparatory event for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
Among the key fixtures of the group stage, the India vs Pakistan match has been scheduled for 14th September 2025. This matchup comes in the wake of the recently cancelled WCL encounter between the two nations which raised questions around their future contests.. Many had expected a similar outcome this time, but the ACC has ensured that the fixture remains part of the official schedule. After the group stage, the top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Four phase, where each team will play the others once in a round-robin format. The top two teams from this stage will progress to the final.
