Speaking of the 28-year-old's cricketing career, she made her international debut for Australia back in 2016. She has played 14 ODIs, eight T20Is and one Test. The last time she donned the national jersey was in March 2022. Wellington has picked up 18 and 10 wickets in ODIs and T20Is.
She recently represented Adelaide Strikers in the 2025 T20 Spring Challenge. Wellington picked up three wickets in four matches at an economy rate of 7.60. She also scored 53 runs at an impressive strike rate at 143.24. Adelaide, however, finished eighth in the league with one win in four matches.
Coming to Australia, they were recently knocked out of the Women's World Cup 2025 by co-hosts India in a thrilling semi-final contest in Navi Mumbai. They entered the knockout phase on the back of six wins in seven round-robin fixtures. Their second league game against Sri Lanka at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo was washed out without a ball bowled.
Wellington has been a constant part of the Strikers. She has played 142 matches and picked up 157 wickets at a frugal economy rate of 6.78 while being playing 10 seasons of the Women's Big Bash League.
The 2025 installment of the WBBL is slated to get underway on Sunday, November 9. Wellington will be expected to contribute like she has over the years.
