CPL 2025: Match 23, GUY vs TKR Match Prediction – Who will win today’s CPL match between GUY vs TKR?

Published - 06 Sept 2025, 13:16 IST | Updated - 06 Sept 2025, 13:18 IST
The Guyana Amazon Warriors (GUY) will be up against the Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) for the upcoming Match No. 23 of the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025 on Sunday, September 7, an encounter which is scheduled to be contested at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.
The Guyana Amazon Warriors have had a decent campaign so far with three wins in five matches played. One of their two losses came during their previous contest against the Nicholas Pooran-led side, and they will be hoping to take their revenge when the sides go head-to-head in the upcoming match. They will also be looking to better their position on the points table with a win in this match.
Now coming to the Trinbago Knight Riders, the side has been in excellent form, where they had gone on to win six games on the trot, however, Saint Lucia Kings defeated them in the most recent outing. Currently, placed second on the table, the Knight Riders will be eager to climb up by clinching yet another win of the season against the Imran Tahir-led side.
The surface at the Providence Stadium in Guyana has often provided a balanced nature and assistance for both the batters and the bowlers. The batters are likely to dominate across the game, however, the pitch is likely to lose pace and bounce as the match progresses. This in turn, will bring spinners into play at the venue, and thus, an even contest is expected. Considering the knack of the pitch slowing down, it would be better if the team winning the toss opts to bat first and imply spinners to win in the later part of the match.
Ben McDermott, Kevlon Anderson, Shai Hope (wicketkeeper), Moeen Ali, Shimron Hetmyer, Iftikhar Ahmed, Romario Shepherd, Dwaine Pretorius, Gudakesh Motie, Jediah Blades, Imran Tahir (captain)
Colin Munro, Alex Hales, Keacy Carty, Nicholas Pooran (captain and wicketkeeper), Kieron Pollard, Andre Rusell, Sunil Narine, Akeal Hosein, Mohammad Amir, Ali Khan, McKenny Clarke
Colin Munro has easily been the best batter, not only for Trinbago Knight Riders, but in the entire CPL 2025. With 352 runs in the eight innings, he is not just the highest run-getter of the season thus far, but has also been striking the ball at a strike rate close to 175, which is phenomenal to say the least. His performances and superb showings as an opener make him the batter to watch out for in the upcoming contest as well.
Age doesn't define players like Imran Tahir. Being the captain of Guyana Amazon Warriors at 46 years of age, Tahir has been doing well on the individual front as well. He is currently the highest wicket-taker in the ongoing 2025 season, with 13 wickets in just five matches. His stellar run of form and ability to grip the ball, even on the most unhelpful surfaces, make him a key contender to shine with the ball on Sunday.
