CPL 2026: Match 9, SLK vs BT Match Prediction – Who will win today’s CPL match between Saint Lucia Kings vs Barbados Tridents?
The Saint Lucia Kings will take on the Barbados Tridents in Match 9 of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2026 at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet on Monday, August 17.
This is the fourth match the Kings will play this season. They have played three matches, winning two and losing one. They beat the Falcons in a rain-reduced match, chasing down a total of 52 with just three wickets in hand in eight overs. They will be looking to extend their dominant start to the season.
This is the Tridents' second game of the season. They played the Jamaica Kingsmen, whom they beat by five runs, holding their nerve to defend a total of 206. They will be looking to continue the momentum of their first win and turn it into a dominant streak.
The pitch at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet has been one of the most bowler-friendly venues of the tournament. Batters have struggled to get going due to the sluggish nature of the surface, which has aided spinners and pacers alike. Spinners have been able to get help from the grip and turn, while seamers have been able to make helpful use of the up-and-down bounce on the surface.
Roston Chase (c), Andries Gous (wk), Ackeem Auguste, Jewel Andrew, Charith Asalanka, Matthew Forde, Darron Nedd, Shadley van Schalkwyk, Khari Campbell, Joshua Bishop, Maheesh Theekshana
Quinton de Kock (wk), Brandon King, Zachary Carter, Sherfane Rutherford, Kevlon Anderson, Rivaldo Clarke, Chris Green (c), Gudakesh Motie, Daniel Sams, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Ramon Simmonds
Sherfane Rutherford has become one of the most dominant forces in the T20 circuit. A middle-order enforcer with the ability to score against pace and spin, the southpaw kicked off the Tridents' season with a 28-ball 50, hitting four fours and three sixes in the knock. He will be looking to continue this form into the season.
Matthew Forde has been clinical with the ball for the Kings in their opening matches. The seam-bowling all-rounder has picked up six wickets in three matches, including a brilliant 4 for 29 against the Falcons to restrict them to 98 for 9 in 19 overs. He will be looking to add to his wicket tally this season.
