‘Don’t underestimate my talent’ - Kareena Kapoor hilariously compares her bowling to Jasprit Bumrah
Bollywood actor Kareena Kapoor Khan recently gave fans a glimpse into her personal life by sharing a fun moment with her son, Taimur Ali Khan, on social media. The actor posted a picture on Instagram showing herself bowling to Taimur inside a cricket net session, highlighting the playful bond between mother and son.
Kareena, known for her witty social media posts, used the opportunity to joke about her cricketing abilities. Sharing the image, she humorously wrote, ‘Don’t underestimate my talent. I can give Bumrah competition too’. The light-hearted remark quickly caught the attention of fans, who enjoyed her comparison with Indian pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah.
While Kareena's comment was made in jest, Bumrah's reputation in world cricket is no laughing matter. Widely regarded as one of the finest fast bowlers of his generation, the right-arm pacer has been India's go-to bowler across formats for several years. Renowned for his unique bowling action, pinpoint yorkers, and ability to thrive under pressure, Bumrah has delivered match-winning performances for India in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is.
Following the conclusion of the Indian Premier League season, Bumrah was rested for India's T20I series against Afghanistan as part of workload management. However, he has been named in India's squad for the ODI series against England scheduled for July and has also been included in the squad for the Asian Games.
Bumrah's numbers underline his immense impact on Indian cricket. In Test cricket, he has claimed 234 wickets in 52 matches. He has also taken 149 wickets in 89 One-Day Internationals and 121 wickets in 95 T20 Internationals. At franchise level, Bumrah has been a key figure for Mumbai Indians, picking up 187 wickets in 158 IPL appearances.
Bumrah has dealt with recurring injury concerns over the years, resulting in multiple spells on the sidelines. As a result, the Indian team management has carefully monitored his workload to ensure his long-term fitness. During the recent tour of England, Bumrah's appearances were managed strategically, allowing him adequate rest between matches and reducing the risk of aggravating previous injuries.
