Mohammed Siraj disclosed feeling devasted for a long time due to his dismissal during India's run-chase in the third Test of the ongoing five-match series against England. Siraj fought valiantly hard alongside Ravindra Jadeja but ended up getting out on just 4 runs after spending a considerable amount of time at the crease, to grant a narrow 22-run win to England which meant a 2-1 lead for the hosts.

He also shared that he felt particularly bad for Jadeja (61* off 181) and Jasprit Bumrah (5 off 54), both of whom had battled long and hard in the middle, and brought the team closer to the finishing line, but it just wasn't meant to be, as Siraj's defence off Bashir ended up trickling down to the wickets, as it hit the bails with enough in it to dislodge them.

“I felt bad for a long time. I am an emotional person. If we had won, we could have been 1-2 up. Jaddu bhai played so well, Bumrah bhai did so well. But now we, the lower-order batters, are batting in the nets,” shared Siraj during the pre-match press conference in Manchester ahead of the fourth Test.

The Hyderabad-born further commented on his workload management and how he has and always will give his all while representing the nation. He also feels that donning the Indian jersey while stepping onto the field is his biggest motivation, and he is ready to wear his heart on the sleeves, regardless of the eventual outcome of the match.

“God has kept me in good health. I want to make the opportunities count and play as many games possible for the country. When I play for the country, the biggest motivation is me getting to represent the nation. I want to give 100% of my life. When I go to bed, I don't wanna think that I missed doing something on the field. I don't want to have regrets of not being able to give my 100% on the field, whatever the result is at the end of the day,” he remarked.

India went down at Lord's despite a determined resistance posed by the lower middle-order. They will be keen on not ending up in a similar position and make a comeback into the series. The fourth Test is scheduled to get underway on Wednesday, July 23.
