Many fans quickly speculated the tweet was a personal reflection linked to his imminent comeback and ongoing chatter about his future in international cricket. However, the mood changed when Kohli soon revealed the tweet was actually a teaser for a promotional video advertising his clothing brand, Wrogn.
A follow-up post featured Kohli in an ad for his casual wear label with the caption: “Failure teaches you what victory never will.”. This creative marketing move triggered a hilarious meme fest online as fans poked fun at how Kohli cleverly stirred curiosity to boost attention for the brand.

Kohli’s latest tour marks an important chapter as he returns to international action after a seven-month break, having last played during the 2025 Champions Trophy. The upcoming series includes three ODIs starting October 19 in Perth, followed by games in Adelaide and Sydney on October 23 and 25 respectively. This tour also signifies the debut leadership for Shubman Gill as India’s new ODI captain with both Kohli and Rohit Sharma playing under the young skipper.
As senior players shift their focus exclusively to white-ball formats after retiring from Tests and T20Is, their presence remains vital to the team’s balance and experience. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selectors have affirmed that Kohli and Rohit’s selection will depend on form leading up to the 2027 ODI World Cup, with limited international 50-over matches slated before that tournament. Former cricketers have expressed concerns over the minimal ODI schedule, warning it could impact the readiness of veteran batters. Nonetheless, current captain Gill reaffirmed the integral role of Kohli and Rohit in India’s future plans.
