A historic moment in women’s cricket has arrived as the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 is set to ignite. India, the heartland of cricket, are hosting this prestigious 50-over spectacle, marking a glorious return after a 12-year hiatus, having last staged the event in 2013. The nation’s collective excitement is palpable, with the Women in Blue aiming for their maiden World Cup title on home soil. All eyes will be on Captain Harmanpreet Kaur and the in-form Smriti Mandhana as the journey begins with the highly anticipated opening match on Tuesday, September 30, where India will take on co-hosts Sri Lanka at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati.
Now as per the Financial express report, The Cricket World Cup 2025 is set to achieve record commercial success with a 70% anticipated surge in ad revenues over the 2022 edition, driven largely by the success of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) and the tournament being hosted in India. The advertiser interest and sponsorship rates for the Women’s World Cup 2025 have reached an all-time high, reflecting the growing commercial viability of women’s cricket.
The report further stated that sponsorship rates for the World Cup 2025 have seen a 40-50% jump compared to the 2022 edition. The estimated value for a Title Sponsorship deal is between INR 25-35 crore, while co-sponsorship deals are valued between INR 10-15 crore. Television ad rates for a 10-second slot are currently priced at INR 1.5-2 lakh, with the price for matches involving Team India escalating to INR 3-3.5 lakh.
On Over-The-Top (OTT) platforms, ad rates are set at INR 400-500 CPM (cost per thousand impressions). The interest from advertisers, particularly from categories such as paints, home décor, FMCG, jewellery, and e-commerce due to the festive season, has led to a significant pre-sales push, with around 70-75% of the inventory for the India games already sold out. Specifically, India-Pakistan matches are commanding a 25-35% mark-up on TV ad inventory and a 30-40% increase on Connected TV (CTV) and OTT ad rates.

The report also added that massive success of WPL in India has significantly contributed to the commercial optimism surrounding the Women’s World Cup 2025. The WPL, which is cited as a major factor for the heightened interest, has been a significant commercial success, reaching upwards of 130 million viewers and generating close to INR 110-120 crore in ad revenues.
Broadcaster JioStar has noted that the last T20 Women’s World Cup delivered twice the reach of competing content genres in the same period. Experts anticipate that the combined momentum of the WPL and India hosting an international women’s cricket event after 12 years could lead to OTT viewership rising as much as 80% over the 2022 edition. This growth is being capitalized on, with 97% of the 2025 World Cup matches scheduled for prime time, including India’s key group-stage clashes on Sundays.
