IPL 2026: Kolkata Knight Riders' strongest predicted XI against Rajasthan Royals

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will be desperate to turn their fortunes around as they take on the in-form Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Match 28 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the iconic Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on April 19.
KKR have endured a difficult start to their campaign this season, managing just one point in their first six matches courtesy of a rain washout against Punjab Kings. Led by Ajinkya Rahane, the side has struggled to find consistency across departments, with both batting and bowling units failing to click together.
In contrast, Rajasthan Royals have looked one of the more settled and confident teams this season. Under the leadership of Riyan Parag, RR have displayed consistency and composure, registering crucial wins and maintaining a strong position on the points table.
With conditions at Eden Gardens often dishing out high-scoring encounters and spinners coming into play as the game progresses, team combinations and tactics will be crucial. KKR will be aiming for a turnaround performance in front of their home crowd, while RR will look to continue their impressive run.
New Zealand wicketkeeper batter Tim Seifert will continue to open the batting alongside skipper Ajinkya Rahane. Seifert was given a chance in the playing XI in place of Finn Allen, and played a handy cameo against Gujarat Titans. Rahane, who is under immense pressure, would want to lead his side from the front in front of a home crowd.
Youngster Angkrish Raghuvanshi will continue to bat at number three. In six innings so far, he has scored 190 runs at a strike rate of 157, and is one of the few consistent KKR batters this year. This top-order will have the responsibility of giving their side a good start.
