Just like that legendary blunder, an intense argument instantly erupted between Chahar and Minz. Meanwhile, a devastated Hardik Pandya could only pull his jersey completely over his face to hide his disappointment. Powell, who was batting on just 14 off 9 balls at the time, made MI pay dearly for the reprieve. He went on to forge a match-defining 64-run partnership for the fourth wicket with veteran Manish Pandey. Powell eventual finished with a brisk 40 off 30 deliveries, hammering 4 fours and two maximums.
