The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will take on the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Match 57 of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Raipur on Wednesday, May 13. Both sides know that a win will take them a step closer to securing a playoff berth.
RCB are currently top of the standings with 14 points from 11 matches. They recently secured a dramatic victory over the Mumbai Indians on the last ball to recover from their recent slump, which saw them go on a two-match losing streak.
KKR, on the other hand, are one of the in-form teams in the IPL, winning four consecutive matches to transform their campaign and give them an outside chance of breaking into the top four.
Both sides used a batter as their Impact Sub in the last game, with RCB calling in Devdutt Padikkal, while KKR brought Finn Alenn to the side. The New Zealander went on to score an unbeaten century against the Delhi Capitals to take his side to a win.
Devdutt Padikkal: One of RCB’s best batters this season, scoring 328 runs at a strike-rate of 176.34. The left-hander can come in and comfortably slot in at number three.
Venkatesh Iyer: An all-rounder by trait, Venkatesh Iyer has been called in as an Impact Sub when RCB have lost early wickets and need an extra batter lower down the order.
Jordan Cox: One of England’s brightest talents, Jordan Cox is yet to make his IPL debut, but has been seen on the field plenty of times as an injury replacement.
Mangesh Yadav: 23-year-old Mangesh Yadav was an INR 5.20 crore buy for RCB in the mini auction but is yet to make his IPL debut. He has been on the substitute bench for many matches.
Vicky Ostwal: A left-arm spinner, Vicky Ostwal is also someone who hasn’t played for RCB this season but had a great time in the domestic circuit with Maharashtra.
Finn Allen: An attacking threat in the top order, Finn Allen is KKR’s designated Impact Player when chasing a total. He became only the fourth KKR player to score a hundred in IPL history.
Tim Seifert: Yet another Kiwi on the KKR bench, Seifert played just three games this season and scored 19 runs.
Ramandeep Singh: A previous regular in the playing XI, Ramandeep Singh has only recently lost his place in the playing XI. He is a good lower-order batter, capable of finishing the innings well.
Navdeep Saini: Should KKR need an extra seamer due to a freak injury, they can bring in Navdeep Saini, who has 23 wickets in his IPL career, but none this season.
Rahul Tripathi: An experienced IPL campaigner, Rahul Tripathi is yet to play a game for KKR this season but remains a batting option to call upon.
