Jemimah Rodrigues ruled out of The Hundred 2026 with hamstring injury

A hamstring injury has ended Jemimah Rodrigues' participation in The Hundred Women's 2026, with Southern Brave confirming Australian all-rounder Charli Knott as her replacement in the squad.

Rodrigues had been brought in by Southern Brave as a direct signing for £60,000 and was among the more influential batters in the competition before the injury cut short her campaign. The exact severity of the hamstring problem has not been disclosed.

In six innings for the side, Rodrigues accumulated 143 runs and collected two Player-of-the-Match awards, making her exit a significant one for a team still in contention at the top of the table.

Knott returns to a familiar environment, having represented Southern Brave during the 2024 edition of The Hundred. The Australian allrounder comes into the squad on the back of an outstanding Vitality Blast campaign with The Blaze, where she scored 404 runs and claimed 27 wickets, the highest wicket tally by any bowler in that competition.

Those numbers confirm her standing as a genuine two-way contributor in English conditions. Southern Brave will look to Knott to provide both batting depth and bowling options across the two remaining group fixtures.

Southern Brave are currently level with Trent Rockets at the top of the Women's Hundred 2026 standings, both sides having 20 points. Trent Rockets hold the superior net run rate, which means Brave cannot afford to slip up in either of their remaining matches.

Those two fixtures are against Manchester Super Giants and Trent Rockets. The head-to-head against Trent Rockets carries particular weight given both teams are separated only by net run rate going into that game.

The injury also puts Rodrigues' availability for the Women's Asia Cup 2026 in doubt. The tournament runs from August 28 to September 13 in Dubai, with India's opening match against Thailand scheduled for August 30. That leaves roughly 22 days from the date of the injury announcement on August 8 for Rodrigues to recover. The extent of the hamstring injury has not been confirmed, so her participation in the continental tournament remains uncertain.
