LPL 2026: Match 15, CK vs JK Match Prediction – Who will win today’s LPL match between Colombo Kaps vs Jaffna Kings?
The third leg of the 2026 Lanka Premier League takes place at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele, where the Colombo Kaps (CK) take on the Jaffna Kings (JK) on Tuesday, July 28. Both sides come into the game on the back of victories in their previous fixture.
The Kaps have six points from five matches, having won three and lost two to sit second in the points table. They are currently on a two-match winning streak, having gotten the better of Kandy Royals and Dambulla Sixers convincingly.
JK, on the other hand, have the same record as their opponents but find themselves third in the standings due to a slightly inferior net run-rate. The defending champions secured a win over the Kandy Royals last time around and also defeated the Colombo Kaps in the reverse fixture by five runs on July 22.
The Pallekele International Cricket Stadium shares characteristics with other venues in Sri Lanka. The pitch is balanced, offering something for both batters and bowlers. During the initial stages of the match, the batting side can score quickly thanks to consistent and predictable bounce. However, the slower bowlers and the spinner will take the ascendancy as the game progresses.
Ben McDermott, Rubin Hermann, Kamindu Mendis (C), Sadeera Samarawickrama (WK), Sharujan Shanmuganathan, James Neesham, Janith Liyanage, Wanuja Sahan, Malsha Tharupathi, Milan Priyanath Rathnayake, Mujeeb Ur Rahman
Kamil Mishara (WK), Avishka Fernando, Ibrahim Zadran, Towhid Hridoy, Bhanuka Rajapaksa (C), Chamindu Wickramasinghe, Shakib Al Hasan, David Wiese, Dunith Wellalage, Traveen Mathew, Mohamed Shiraz
Colombo Kaps captain Kamindu Mendis is enjoying a fruitful Lanka Premier League 2026. The right-handed batter has scored 183 runs from five matches at a strike-rate of 161.95. He hit an unbeaten 88 in their previous fixture against the Dambulla Sixers to help his side secure a 21-run victory.
With seven wickets from five matches, Dunith Wellalage is Jaffna Kings' second-highest wicket-taker. However, it is his economy which sets him apart from the rest. Conceding runs at a rate of just 7.71, Wellalage has the best economy rate amongst the top 10 wicket-takers in the tournament.
