LPL 2026: Match 7, JK vs CK Match Prediction – Who will win today’s LPL match between Jaffna Kings vs Colombo Kaps?
Match 7 of the 2026 Lanka Premier League sees the defending champions Jaffna Kings (JK) take on the Colombo Kaps (CK) at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on Wednesday, July 22, as part of a doubleheader. Both sides secured victories in their previous games and will want to carry the momentum forward.
Jaffna Kings secured a win over the Dambulla Sixers in their last match after suffering defeat at the hands of Galle Gallants in the opening game of the 2026 season. Captain Bhanuka Rajapaksa scored an unbeaten 61 in the second innings to successfully chase down 131 runs in a low-scoring affair.
The Kaps, on the other hand, got the better of Kandy Royals in their previous encounter in the Lanka Premier League. They chased down 180 thanks to Janith Liyanage's unbeaten 53 and Jimmy Neesham's 48 not out.
The venue used for the Tri-Nations series earlier this year, the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium is one of the most picturesque stadiums in Sri Lanka. Due to the close proximity to Ibbankatuwa Lake, fast bowlers can get early swing with the new ball. The pitch slows as the game progresses, with batters needing to adjust to the conditions before playing their extravagant shots.

Colombo Kaps captain Kusal Mendis has had a great start to the 2026 Lanka Premier League despite a low score in the previous game. The right-handed batter scored 79 runs in their opening game against Galle Gallants, where he hit seven sixes in total.
Hasan Mahmud currently has five wickets to his name and is already the second-highest wicket-taker in the tournament. He took two wickets against the Galle Gallants before claiming a further three dismissals against the Kandy Royals in a winning cause.
