MLC 2026: Qualifier 1, SF vs LAS Match Prediction – Who will win today’s MLC match between San Francisco Unicorns vs Los Angeles Knight Riders?
The San Francisco Unicorns (SF) take on the Los Angeles Knight Riders (LAS) in a battle between the top two sides during Qualifier 1 of the 2026 Major League Cricket (MLC) season at the Oakland Coliseum on Wednesday, July 15. Both sides are looking to win their maiden title in the United States-based franchise league.
SF finished first in the points standings, claiming 12 points from 10 matches. They secured a victory over the Seattle Orcas in their last group game of the season.
LAS, on the other hand, also finished on 12 points but ended up second in the table due to their inferior net run-rate. The Knight Riders have reached the playoffs for the first time in their history after three consecutive victories in the league phase.
It is worth noting that the Knight Riders have already completed a double over the San Francisco-based side.
Of the previous eight matches at the Oakland Coliseum, victories have been split four ways between sides chasing and batting first. During the ongoing MLC season, the pitch at the venue has generally behaved two-paced, making it a little tricky for batters to score runs freely. However, the cooler conditions in the evening could help the batting side.
The nature of the wicket could also aid the slower bowlers, particularly the ones in the LAS camp.
Lhuan-dre Pretorius (WK), Finn Allen, Matthew Short (C), Sanjay Krishnamurthi, Aaron Hardie, Hassan Khan, Saideep Ganesh, Aakarshit Gomel, Brody Couch, Xavier Bartlett, Peter Siddle
Colin Munro, Andre Fletcher, Matthew Tromp, Rovman Powell, Andre Russell, Jason Holder (C), Saif Badar, Sunil Narine, Jahmar Hamilton (WK), Shadley van Schalkwyk, Ali Khan
Lhuan-dre Pretorius has been the star batter all season long. The South African international is currently the leading run-scorer in the 2026 MLC, having hit 447 runs at a strike-rate of 176.67, whilst averaging more than 55. The left-handed batter also has one century to his name, scoring an unbeaten 102 against the MI New York in Dallas.
Despite turning 38 earlier this year, Andre Russell is still lethal with the ball, as shown during this season of MLC. The former West Indies all-rounder is currently the joint-highest wicket-taker of the tournament with 18 scalps at an economy rate of 9.73. He registered his best figures of 4 for 35 against MINY at the same venue as Qualifier 1.
