Nicholas Pooran retired from international cricket earlier this year at the age of 29. The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) star is the leading T20I run-getter for the West Indies, and he also has hit the most sixes for the Caribbean side. In 2024, he set new records for most runs and most 50-plus scores in a calendar year in T20s. He also has the most consecutive T20I innings without a duck (71).
Pooran recently helped the Trinbago Knight Riders lift their fifth Caribbean Premier League (CPL) title. Under his astute leadership, the Knights got the better of Guyana Amazon Warriors in the final. This was his first stint as captain of the franchise. Pooran finished as the second-highest run-getter in the six-team competition, only behind West Indies white-ball skipper Shai Hope.
CricTracker recently had the chance to interview the legendary wicketkeeper-batter. During a This or That challenge, Pooran picked the tougher IPL opponent between the five-time champions Mumbai Indians and the Chennai Super Kings, the better tournament between IPL (Indian Premier League) and CPL, Virat Kohli's aggression or MS Dhoni's calmness, batting with Chris Gayle and Kieron Pollard, and much more.
