Batting first, Sri Lanka never looked settled against Zimbabwe’s disciplined attack. Only Kamil Mishara (20 off 20) and Charith Asalanka (18 off 23) showed brief resistance, while skipper Dasun Shanaka managed 15 runs. Wickets kept tumbling at regular intervals as the Zimbabwe bowlers maintained relentless pressure.
The standout performer with the ball was Sikandar Raza, who delivered a masterclass in spin bowling, finishing with figures of 3 for 11 in his four overs. Brad Evans (3/15) and Blessing Muzarabani (2/14) provided excellent support, ensuring Sri Lanka were bowled out for a modest total.

Chasing a low target of 81, Zimbabwe lost a few early wickets but stayed on course thanks to contributions from multiple batters. Brian Bennett (19) and Tadiwanashe Marumani (17) provided a brisk start before Ryan Burl (20) and Tashinga Musekiwa (21 off 14) sealed the victory.
Sri Lanka’s pace spearhead Dushmantha Chameera (3/19) briefly threatened to tilt the match back in his team’s favour, but the low total left little margin for error. Zimbabwe eventually reached 84/5 in 14.2 overs, wrapping up a comfortable win. For his exceptional all-round performance, Raza was named Player of the Match. While his batting contribution was minimal, his decisive spell with the ball set up Zimbabwe’s win.
