UAE T20I Tri-Series 2025: Pakistan vs United Arab Emirates, 5th T20I Match Preview

Pakistan are set to face the UAE on Thursday, September 4, in match No. 5 of the ongoing T20I Tri-Series 2025 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah.

The Men in Green find themselves at No. 1 on the points table. They won the first two matches before losing to Afghanistan by 18 runs on Tuesday, September 2. Pakistan faced the UAE earlier in the competition, scoring 207 in 20 overs. In reply, Asif Khan brilliantly smashed 77 off just 35 balls before the UAE were restricted to 176/8 in their 20 overs.

The UAE, on the other hand, will need to win their last two games to keep themselves mathematically alive for a spot in the final. They have played two games and lost both. Apart from the defeat to Pakistan by 31 runs, they lost by 38 runs against the UAE.

Saim Ayub and Haris Rauf will hold the key for Pakistan with the bat and ball, respectively. The former has also performed well with the ball. Meanwhile, UAE skipper Muhammad Waseem and Asif Khan will be the batters to watch out for as far as the hosts are concerned. On the bowling front, Saghir Khan is among the leading wicket-takers in the tri-series.

Four matches have been played so far at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the ongoing tri-series. The average first-innings total is around 187. All four matches have been won by teams batting first. The powerplay is going to be crucial for both sides. Keeping wickets in hand for the back end of the innings will be crucial.
