India whitewashed the West Indies in the two-match Test series after emerging victorious on Day 5 of the second Test at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Tuesday, October 14.

After losing the first Test at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad by an innings and 140 runs, the West Indies put on a much better show in Delhi. India declared at 518/5 in their first innings before dismissing the Caribbean side for 248. Having taken a first-innings lead of 270 runs, Shubman Gill decided to enforce the follow-on.

John Campbell and Shai Hope smashed resilient centuries to force India to bat for the second time in the Test match. The hosts needed 121 runs to win. KL Rahul hit a boundary off Jomel Warrican in the first session of Day 5 to take his team over the line. The Indian opener finished unbeaten on 58 off 108 balls as India won by seven wickets. While Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed on Day 4, Sai Sudharsan and Shubman departed on the final day of the series.

There has also been a significant change to the points table standings of the ongoing World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle after this result.
