Yograj Singh recently named his son, Yuvraj Singh, as the 'Best cricketer India has ever produced'. While Yograj played just one Test and six ODIs for India, his son represented the Men in Blue in 40 Tests, 304 ODIs, and 58 T20Is.
During his illustrious career, Yuvraj played significant roles in helping India win the T20 World Cup in 2007 and the ODI World Cup in 2011. He was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, but he managed to recover successfully and returned to cricket in 2012. This story continues to inspire people across the world. Yuvraj also won the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians.
“If you talk about all-rounders, then Kapil Dev. If you talk about batsmen, then you have Yuvraj Singh, Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, and Sourav Ganguly – all these guys – but I think Yuvi (Yuvraj) is topping everybody in my book," Yograj said in a video going viral on social media, after being asked about the best cricketer India has ever produced.
“He would have played about 200 Test matches and maybe 200 centuries, which I thought… and he was capable of," he added.

Tendulkar is the highest run-getter of all time in international cricket. He has amassed 15,921 runs in Tests and 18,426 runs in ODIs. On the other hand, Virat Kohli has the most number of centuries in ODI cricket. VVS Laxman and Sourav Ganguly also had brilliant careers, especially in Tests and ODIs, respectively. Meanwhile, India won the 1983 World Cup under Kapil Dev's inspirational leadership. He helped the Asian side win several matches with his all-round skills.
Former India coach backs Kohli to finish ODI series strongly
Yuvraj is currently helping young Indian cricketers hone their skills. The likes of Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma have often mentioned how the former cricketer helped them develop their craft. Now, Yuvraj is working with the likes of Priyansh Arya, Prabhsimran Singh, among others, preparing them for the challenges they might face in international cricket.
