Raina congratulated Dhoni on his legacy, which continues to inspire the nation despite his retirement from international cricket in 2019. The left-handed batter also took pride in spending a majority of his career playing under the successful captain.
"Happy Birthday, @msdhoni Mahi bhai! ❤️.Your legacy will never be defined by records alone, but by the countless lives you've inspired and the belief you've given to so many. Grateful to have shared this journey with you. Wishing you happiness, good health, and many more years of smiles. Stay blessed forever," Raina said on X (formerly Twitter).

Both Raina and Dhoni spent 11 years together at CSK during the franchise's most successful spells in the Indian Premier League as well as in the Champions League T20. The duo guided the Chennai-based side to four IPL titles, in 2010, 2011, 2018 and 2021. The pair also guided the team to two CLT20 crowns in 2010 and 2014, becoming one of the dominant franchise teams across the globe.
Raina and Dhoni also formed part of the Indian side which won the 2011 ICC World Cup and the 2013 Champions Trophy. The southpaw played two crucial innings against Australia in the quarter-finals and Pakistan in the semi-finals to help his side reach the showpiece final against Sri Lanka during the home World Cup.
